The Jacquard print is named after Lyon-based weaver, Joseph Marie Jacquard, creator of the weaver loom known as the Jacquard machine. By combining several weaving techniques, in 1801 this programmable machine was able to produce pieces with elaborate patterns: the Jacquard.
